Too many politicians seek support by stoking fear or anger or prejudice. What’s worse these days is that they try to govern the same way! We must recognize that we are all in this boat together and our goal cannot be to throw half the passengers overboard. Instead, we should be mindful of our fallibility, stay open-minded to contrary opinions and do what good we can when we cannot do all we would wish.
